War of Emperium is a new addition to the world of international Ragnarok Online. WoE enables users who have formed a guild and received Approval, certification from the Rune Midgard Kingdom , to conquer castles to claim as their own. However, once the castle has been taken over, it must be protected at all cost! Otherwise, if the guild's Emperium has been destroyed by other warring or rival guilds, they will claim the castle for themselves. There are over twenty castles to conquer in the world of Rune Midgard, located in Prontera, Al de Baran, Payon, and Geffen. The castle you may conquer will depend on the strength and abilities of your guild.

Some castles require brute force to vanquish the many difficult monsters that lie about; other castles require specific elemental skills to pass through many obstacles. However, one must consider that these strengths in some situations may also be weaknesses in others. Consider this: if there is water in the castle you are defending, Wizards, from both allied and rival guilds, will be able to use the Water Ball skill. However, it is the guild's responsibility to protect their castle and ways to counter possible obstacles such as this. Team work is vital when it comes to War of Emperium.
