| So here are the top 20 finalist in the first iRO "Create your own" Headgear competition. Your job now is to vote on your favorite. Remember please vote just once, these polls will be open until the maintenance this Tues May 27th. So vote now! We wish we could declare all of them winners, however that wouldn't make for a fun contest. Deciding these top 20 took much deliberation and debate between the community and the GM Teams. was the headgear intended to be named "Advanced Valerie Helm" instead of "Advanced Valkyrie Helm" |

Do you realize how many people's work and time you wasted for not even a chance? People slaved hours over ideas and you didn't even pick 25% of the entries. Nice job... again.
And who is to stop people from creating multiple accounts and voting or getting friends to vote? Didn't this just turn into a popularity contest?

Last time I checked my submission/thread had the MOST views/comments out of any freaking thread in the contest and not one of my submissions made it to the finals? This is stupid. Way to ruin the contest, I'm not voting for any of these submissions.
The extent to which you guys have screwed up this competition truly boggles my mind, as the most popular submissions weren't even picked. Obviously you guys just sat around and thought about you wanted most and not the community. Never mind the fact that there was outstanding support FROM THE COMMUNITY for other submissions, and almost zilch for the ones that showed up here. Truly epic failure.
Thanks for dragging this -_- out longer than it needed to be dragged out for, thanks for choosing the least popular hats for finalists, and thanks for completely alienating me, and other people who actually submitted POPULAR entries. |

I agree with you.
But I'm more shocked for the gears copied from private servers than for the popular gears that werent picked.
As i said in my other post, i thought that the iRO GMs were a bit better than euRO GMs and they had a better knownledge in gears from the private servers...but I was in fault, also them are ingnorant in this field, as is happed for euRO GMs.

| Yeah, really sad to see the ones chosen here. Alot of really nice ones were passed over in favor of these less impressive ones. I'd been really hoping to see Pheremones and Drooping Doddler, and some of the lower headgears, particularly the apple and pencil atleast make it into the finals. The chopsticks are cool, and i kinda like the Filer Pinions and the bunch of flies, but... where is the dazzling display of artistic and conceptual talent that we saw submitted?

Don't be jealous just because you didn't get picked.
If you don't win then you don't win, it doesn't matter how long somebody works on something. A contest is a contest. You submit something knowing you may not win or even be considered. So don't go into a jealous raging fit because you didn't get picked. If you didn't want to risk wasting the time, then you shouldn't of entered the contest.
Judging from some of the effects of these helms, I can tell a lot of the submissions were probably overpowered. One or two of these headgears are more powerful than some god items. |

Agreed. I personally would've chosen most of the choices given over some of the blatant rip-offs suggested (ironically, many of them were by Terminus). They're nice for theoretical ideas, but the only reason they're so popular is because we make them popular. I do not stand by the "Drooping (insert forum-member/character here)" headgears for this reason.
I'm not saying which headgear I voted on (though I can say that it was not the Ghost one or the Flies), but I like the given options more than most of the other ones, despite the so-called 'dazzling artwork'; such special treatment is often the sign of desperation and an attempt to cover a lack of uniqueness (and just because it shows up on pservers does not mean that it isn't unique; it's not a kRO idea, but a user-based idea).
