Location: Randomrok		Well, my skin is still too unfinished to meet the deadline (most of the buttons aren't done, most of the letters aren't either and I have to draw a whole lot of porings ), but I figured I could post this and maybe get some feedback while this forum is still up.

I'm not sure about the gigantic poring peeking over the basic window. lol
Most of the backgrounds are still unfinished too.
But the idea is having a poring theme and soft colors, pinks, chocolatey browns and orangey highlights. The problem with RO not interpreting the colors correctly made this a bit too brown and too saturated than it was initially, but I guess it's looking ok.



Shanks for any thoughts.

Anything I should try to fix or doesn't look alright (so far)? (Big poring on the top left corner is too big? It's bothering me a little, might try changing it again.)

I think the big poring looks great. And I agree with Sym. I love it and with more porings I'll love it even more! I hope you get your skin finished before the deadline, it will be a big contender. But when you finish this skin, I'll want it anyway.

Also the colors are not to bright, so the skin doesnt distract from the game. Thumbs up

Location: Randomrok		Thanks for the comment! Funny you should mention SuNos, I was going to make a novice theme at first, but then realized porings were much faster to draw! lol

Also the colors are not to bright, so the skin doesnt distract from the game.

I was trying to make it just that, something that isn't too distracting. But it may be a bit too brown...
Like, when I tested it in Pront, with all the shop windows, it was a bit too brownish, although I still intend to add a little color variation on those windows, with the icons.
Managed to do a little bit more, but I don't think I'll make it in time. Still want to skin the mail/auction system and all. I guess if I don't finish the basics in time for the contest, I'll try to do custom Kafras afterwards. Should be fun!

Still loads to do... Anything you'd change?

I guess you still want to work on the item window, especially the tabs. And what are you planning to do with the lvl up icons or the buttons(Ok, Trade, Cancel, Exit to Windows, Return to Game etc.)?

 And I love the addition of the porings in the stat window .

Venser, I want to do little "animated" buttons, but it's kinda difficult to work at such a small scale... pixel work is tough on the eyes! =_=
Maybe you can give me an opinion on the following... "off" button: backpack poring or "oh noes" poring? The oh noes one looks good with knights/saders, but so-so with merchants. Didn't the merchants get the cart "off" button at some point? Like, the one with the actual grey cart? Hmm...
I had initially thought of drawing an actual cart for the off button, but then I realized the image is the same for merchants and knights
But why would a knight have a cart? Doesn't make sense.



I never figured out how a poring could carry a backpack when it has no shoulders. I guess it's a MAGICAL backpack. That's the answer to everything that doesn't make sense in this game!

OT: What's a "RoPaSc"? Hehe. Is it an anagram for something?

The backpack poring was a good idea and I think it fits well here. I must say I like the "oh noes" poring, but packpack poring is a better fit. You could use the other poring somewhere else in the skin, but I wouldn't know where, if I did I'd have made a skin myself.

And I dont really find it strange the poring can have a backpack, there are invsible cords (at least with this many pixels) that hold the two straps together, in that way they can't fall of. And remember that our  shoulders also slope downwards somewhat.

RoPaSc is actually a forum nick I seldom use, I already requested to have it changed, since the forum account is linked to my RO account in some way (no response yet). RoPaSc comes from Rock Paper Scissors. Yes, my imagination and my brains were taking a hike while thinking it up.

why is it in japanese?

The images that the ROViewer overlays over the skin files are taken from jRO (by the person who made the skin viewer). You can edit the files to your liking, but I haven't really done that.

Location: The Netherlands		The idea of the poring is very good(cos i like the porings), but i dislike the color of the background, cos it is a sad pink, and I suffer of nervous breakdown and to see a so sad color make me more depressed. Anyway this is my personal opinion, the color and the decoration are subjective.^___^

Anyway i will wait the finished version to try it on RO.

Location: Randomrok		Haha, no, I understand... I can't look at some colors either. But I wanted a soft (somewhat neutral) color, so a bright pink wouldn't do. Everyone likes porings, I think. (Then why do we kill so many? Tough love? )

aww, dont diss yourself too much! the simplicity of porings is what makes them so cute and loveable. :3

I'm eager to see what you have in store with the equipment window, right now it looks too plain :<

(edit) also, I hope you have a homunculus window in store for this one! I'd love to see another giant poring on it xD hehe.
